Devin Patrick Hughes invited to the Erich Bergel International Conducting Competition

We are thrilled to announce that Devin Patrick Hughes was one of three Americans invited to participate in the Erich Bergel Competition in Romania! Selected along with 40 other conductors around the world, Maestro Hughes will compete in Tîrgu Mureș as he conducts the Tîrgu Mureș State Philharmonic in partnership with Associazione Artes, and Kult Mind Association.

Devin says:

The first professional orchestra I conducted 20 years ago was in Romania and I’m excited and honored to be invited to go back to compete with conductors from all over the world!

THE COMPETITION IS DEDICATED TO ERICH BERGEL, WHO WAS BORN IN ROMANIA, RÂŞNOV. HE WAS PRINCIPAL CONDUCTOR OF THE CLUJ PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AND OF THE NORDWESTDEUTSCHE PHILHARMONIE, TEACHER AT THE HOCHSCHULE DER KÜNSTE IN BERLIN AND GUEST CONDUCTORS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ORCHESTRAS OF HIS TIME.
